I need a little non-obvious help with this (Obvious things being getting more ebony treefolk and spirit mongers etc. of course. :p)

Creatures:
4 Blastoderm
1 Spiritmonger
1 Ebony Treefolk
1 Sengir Vampire
4 Dauthi Slayers
4 Ravenous Rats

Spells:
4 Dark Ritual
3 Pernicious Deed
3 Phyrexian Arena
4 Diabolic Edict
4 Chainer's Edict
4 Hymn to Torach
1 Demonic Tutor

Lands:
11 Swamps
10 Forests
1 Llanowar Waste

Keep in mind I'm not too keen on spending too much. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a nearly Identical deck. . .

Mine is . . . (from memory so it isn't exact)

4x Faceless Butcher
3x Spiritmonger (I got lucky with 'em in packs)
4x Ebony Treefolk
4x Llanowar Dead
4x Urborg Elf? (produces G,B, or U)

1x pernicious Deed (wish I had more)
4x Diabolic Edict
4x Consume Strength
4x Life/Death (works very well, creatures are mana efficient for Death, and Life get's you through for a final blow if they're blocking the fatties)

I know there's something else, just can't recall right now.

I'd replace the rats with Butchers. While Hymn is badazz, I'd prob pull 'em for consume strength. It lets' you remove blockers as well. I'll probably add the chainer's edict to mine, I get enough mana to buy 'em back with all the elves. Also, even if you don't add 4, you should find some room for life/death if you can. Apocolypse was awesome to B/G.

Its looks sound to me, the only thing I would consider would be to include some regenerators, as they can survive a Deed. The best of which being River Boa and/or Albino Troll. They would be good in place of the Ravenous Rats (not bad, but best in a solid discard strategy or a recursion deck). On that note, I would definitely work more Spiritmongers in here if you have them.

I'd drop the Slayers for the other Treefolk and the Spiritmonger. I'll agree with Mikeymike and say to put River Boas in the deck since you won't be tying up your mana with paying the echo on the Trolls and the Boa's regeneration is also cheaper.

B/G works great for reanimation. You don't have any in your deck, but a card like Diabolic Servitude would fit as it gets Blastoderms back once more yet can survive a Deed if done properly. You have forgotten Yavimaya Elder :)

I think something besides Diabolic Edict would augment Chainer's Edict better like Consume Strength as mentioned. It really, really helps to have a combat trick. I kinda wonder why OBC U/G doesn't play something like 1 Sylvan Might (Quiet spec for) to make a Wurm trample or remove an opposing wurm.

Rancor survives Deed, makes RavRats a threat and makes Spiritmonger a beast.

I forgot the Blastoderms. . . DOH.

And I like the River Boa idea too. they'll survive the PD. Since I only have one PD, I'm not worried about regen, but for you it helps. They wear a big blue target for Counterspell on them too.

Throw in an altar of dementia so you can get something off of your creatures going to the graveyard...

Thanks for the ideas all. As for Yavimaya elders, I did have them in there but they were removed as they cost 1GG and I was told that was inefficient. I also used to use Haunted Crossroads to bust back the derms. The reason I don't have consume strength or rancors or anything like that is a.) I don't have them and b.) blastoderm is my main wacker. I don't have any more spirit mongers or treefolk yet, getting treefolk soon. River boas are a great idea (don't know who posted that but special thanks to you.) Thanks again everyone.

A guy I play against showed me his old "The Rock" deck and I thought it might be of help to you:

//NAME: The Rock's Arena
// Black:
2 Coffin Purge
2 Diabolic Servitude
4 Duress
3 Phyrexian Arena
3 Phyrexian Plaguelord
1 Recurring Nightmare
// Green:
3 Deranged Hermit
1 Gurzigost
3 Spike Feeder
3 Yavimaya Elder
// Gold:
3 Pernicious Deed
3 Spiritmonger
// Artifacts:
3 Grim Monolith
2 Masticore
// Lands:
8 Forest
4 Llanowar Wastes
8 Swamp
3 Treetop Village
1 Volrath's Stronghold

I know you're not keen on spending, and you have a few superior replacements you can put in, but this might give you a good starting point from which to look at. I've played against this deck and it's actually quite fun. It's got quite a few varied ways to smash face.
