D. Alexander Gregory has a box of Prophecy and a Masques Starter. He wants to sell them but doesn't know what to price them at. I tell him that starters are about $10 and booster boxes range from $70 to $100 depending on where you buy them. He marks the box at $40 and the starter at $4. I buy the starter. (My giving him information constitutes his knowing what he was doing.)

I save $6. w00t. I didn't have the $40 for the box. That was a good thing, Prophecy sucked.

The starter had a Two Headed Dragon in it too. I then challenged my friend's 40-card, 2­½-color Invasion sealed deck against my 75 card 5-color starter. Turn six, dragon comes, Turn eight, opponent goes.

I love me winged lizards.

I recieved 1x Florral Spuzzem (which I'd wanted for a long time, nothing like having an intelligent card to show off) for absolutely nothing. I had just been offered a deal including a dual land, a Sylvan Library, several recent power cards, and a few older Dark/Antiquities cards, all in trade for a HUGE pile of rares out of my 'Bad Binder' (jammed full of the worst rares I own). I was about to accept the trade, and then he said "Here, I'll throw this in too." Of course, I didn't turn him down.

1x Disrupting Scepter
3x Dark/Antiquties rares not worth anything
1x Italian Waiting in the Weeds, BB (What? I LIKE that card!)

~25 rares, along the lines of Personal Incarnation (3rd), Thought Lash (!), Flash (!!), Blessed Wind (!!!), Shrouded Serpant (!!!!), and ROP: Lands (!!!!!)

Remember, the other guy has to be aware that he's making a "bad" trade.

All of these guys were aware of the value of their cards? And they just didn't care? (well, not the huge amounts of cards deal... that's pretty even).

With each of them, I always ask if they want to do this. I tell them honestly what things are worth, yet most of them go along with it anyway.

All but the cigarette trade were with people trying to 'catch up'. Both of them thought that it was a good trade, so who was I to decline.

I actually asked him why he was doing it. He replied, "I don't have any profit left in these cards." I have NO idea what that means, but you know something? If I can get about $200 in cards for $33, I don't particularly CARE what it means.

Almindhra knows this place. He's closed now (an extremely old guy) but he sold baseball cards and all other kinds of cards in his basement. Yup, he had the whole nine yards, big glass display cases, shelves with loads of unopened boxes of all sorts and a cash register (and the smell of gas, heck, maybe he's dead?). Since he didn't live in a commercial retail zone, he couldn't have any signs in his yard, just a little "open/closed" sign hanging from a string on one of those suction cup thingy's.
Anyway, he had this 'sale' that went like this: "All cards half off of Magazine value." His magazine for .\\agic was Scrye, . So I look through his crappy rare and uncommons bin and, whalah! A Mox Diamond! Now he also had this "Magic Singles an additional 20% off" sign too. I think Scrye had the diamond at $16, so that's $8 (half off) minus (20% off) is something like $6.40 something or other. I had only six ones in my pocket and mentioned that to him, he said, "Here, it's yours for six bucks." Yeah!

The thing with that guy is that he's been playing since around Unlimited and has a ton of cards, and he really needed the box.
