I just watched this video of a semi-final match on Magicthegathering.com. I think it's a Pro Tour match, but not sure. Here is as amazing a topdeck as I've ever seen one.

That's going to be Craig Jones ripping the Helix off the top isn't it? (didnt click the link)

Craig's a good friend of mine - he's the guy who borrowed my Sligh deck back in '98 to win GP Birmingham - great guy, one of the nicest and friendliest players you can meet. He's one of the semi-regular contributors to moxradio.

BTW, have any of you ever had a chance to listen to some of our coverage from the Grand Prix yet? I think you'd actually find it quite interesting, we certainly try and spice up the presentation of magic reporting. Some of the pro player interviews are brilliant, and it's interesting how completely unseriously they take the game. It seems that part of being a good player is understanding the game well enough to know the random factor is so huge there's no point in getting worked up over winning or losing.

Yes. If I could sculpt my play to the point where I controlled my draws... I'd be a poker player. :D

Why can't I topdeck like that? Once, I needed one point of damage to win. I got a Forest. The wierd part was, I was playing mono-red![/bad joke]

I topdecked a Dwarven Pony on my first hand of a three-player game against MrPestilence and Theorgg. How's THAT for topdeck?!

I don't think it's a "topdeck" if it's in your opening hand...

Maybe I'm luckier than the rest of you, but I've had topdecks just like that--albeit without the monetary aspect.

Then again, I've had a whole lot of manascrews and manadrowns too. Maybe I'm not so lucky... :(

If you want to see some weird topdecking, check out Spidey and my game in the games run. I was pretty much finished, he was going to win, then I pull a Coalition victory, and the next turn, I pull survival of the fittest! (unfortunately he countered the survival and still one, however was still an amazing topdeck)

Yeah, I'm not sure if you forgot I had the Spite or what... but thank goodness.

I don't know if it's top-decking or if he already had it, but Ransac's Balances during the casual games sure come up at the right times... :)
