Forgot to post this last week...

WOTC is taking submissions for Auction of the People decks for the Magic Invitational... you have to submit a deck using a card starting with each of the 26 letters of the alphabet.

See here for the details...

Should we try to do this as a group or just individually? Or Both.
I think it should start with Cursed Totem.... or Absorb....?

I think we could do one here... but I will most likely send on on my own at the least... I'll post it here also...

What should we start with?
Kokusho, the Evening Star? Lifeline?
Or one of the cards we tried to break?

Actually I had an idea to use these cards in the deck, but need help.
Claws of Gix
Diamond Valley
Grave Pact
Isochron Scepter
Kokusho, the Evening Star
Lifeline
Stifle

X is fairly easy, as it's a throw away card the the article said they are expecting.

I was starting one with Xira Arien...

I figure for Q, Quicksand... And Wasteland for W... Trouble is, I'm old school and don't even know any new cards... I'm sure there are great cards I just don't know about since I haven't played with anything newer than Odessey and really nothing new since Urza's in terms of really using them...

Claws of Gix
Diamond Valley
Grave Pact
Isochron Scepter
Kokusho, the Evening Star
Lifeline
Stifle

Lifeline lets creatures that go to the GY come back at end of turn, but there has to be another creature in play (maybe darksteel colossus?)
Kokusho has go to gy ability that makes your opponents lose 5 life and you gain life that is lost that way (in a 1 on 1 duel it's 5 life for you and -5 for your opponent)
Claws and Diamond valley lets you sac the Kokusho, lifeline brings it back.
Stifle and scepter let you stop your opponent from doing it once per turn.
Grave pact m,ay not be so good, since they just get their creatures back at EOT, but it could be used to keep them from attacking since it's at EOT.

OK, so here's a BG build...

Ashen Ghoul
Buried Alive
Claws of Gix
Diabolic Edict
Erratic Portal
Forgotten Lore
Gleancrawler
Hypnotic Specter
Icy Manipulator
Jester's Cap
Krovikan Horror
Lifeline
Mutilate
Nether Shadow
Overgrown Tomb
Pernicious Deed
Quicksand
Repentant Vampire
Soulshriek
Tainted Wood
Umbicilis
Volrath's Stronghold
Wild Mongrel
Xanthic Statue
Yaviyama Hallow
Zuran Orb

Which cards are the weakest Links - or have I completely missed some power card... I'd like more discard, but not too much.

Are we building two different decks?

In regards to Mooseman's idea, what about an indestructible creature to keep in play with Lifeline?

BB's deck looks fine to me.

For BB - what about Spiritmonger... perfect with the B/G, and critters going to the gy...

Xantid Swarm is probably one of the best X cards, if you are running green... drop it first turn, and nothing will be countered during combat or second main phases...

I'm still looking at other options...

Boy, after reading their other requirements... picking numbers of cards is tough... (60 cards exactly and at least 24 lands)

Mooseman - If you have Kokusho in play, isn't the Claws of Gix/Lifeline combo sort of moot?

Not sure what you mean.
Basically it think it goes like this
Have all three in play with another creature
pay 1 to sac Kokusho to Claws - Gain 1 life
when Kokusho hits gy it triggers - opponents lose 5 life, you gain 5X life
Lifeline bring Kokusho back to play at eot.
Do this every turn.

I think Moose is using the gix as the main sac method to get the critters into the gy over and over again... not just when they would go there normally... the 1-pt life gain is just bonus...

but... the deck could run well with contamination...

That's my favorite control method with lifeline...

Okay, let me put this another way.

You have a 5/5 flier in play... Which part of that hasn't probably already won the game?

If you want to combo with a Dragon and Lifeline, use Sneak Attack instead of Claws of Gix.

Sneak is the only deck I won a type 2 tourney with...

Heck... even Aura Thief couldn't stop me!...

Sneak would be another way to go if running a R/B deck...

Diamond Valley is also a way to sac Kokusho. If I use sneak attack the Kokusho comes back to play at eot, how do I get it to the gy while it's in play.
Of course the Kokusho will be used as an attacker/blocker.
Sneak attack would be a quicker way to get the process started.....

I just need more cards to fill out the other letters... Ideas?
2 Claws of Gix or Contamination
2 Diamond Valley
2 Grave Pact
4 Kokusho, the Evening Star
3 Lifeline
3 Sneak Attack
