Assault of the Sno-Demons

Heh. I live in Georgia. I came to this state for school because I did not want to have to deal with cold temperatures and snow in any quantity. I am happily typing from my computer in Savannah, knowing that though it is rather cold outside, it will be warm long before the ghastly state of Maryland is.
So why do I post this?
Because for ONE weekend I made the concession to go north for a convention, and it's the friggin' Blizzard Of The Century.
What fun, carrying bags out through most of the snow-drifted parking lot to the car with frigid wind whipping my face, and bits of snow sticking in and freezing on my sporadic growths of facial hair! What joy, ending up with my great stylin' hat soaking wet after the full centimeter of snow that had accumulated on it melted in the car. What glee, attempting to escape Virginia with 6 inches of snow on the ground, roads closed left and right, and a driver from Florida who had never driven in snow before.
Hah. At least I made it out. This has been a pointless account, you may now return to your regular futile religious debates.

6 inches, that's nothin'. We're at 20 and counting. And I can barely see the cars in the driveway cuz o' the drifts. 'Tis quite fun! (no, that's not sarcasm)

How can you not like the snow? (I say this while sitting inside my warm house, far out of reach of the 2-3 feet of snow blanketing my neighborhood) well at least it looks cool.

So how was Katsucon? (apart from the snow)

I know two other people who wanted to go... One got sick and threw up most of the time, the other's brother suddenly didn't want to go on saturday, so they didn't.

Katsucon 2003 = ECH

I'm glad I'm still enough underage that my mom was the one who drove the several hundred miles from NE Massachusetts to the MD you were talking about this weekend.
At least they get today and tomorrow off of school here, and tomorrow looks good in terms of weather. Meanwhile I get to write an essay about fascism with the boring snow falling all around. Whee

I have a lot of friends who went to that... I forgot it was this weekend. I wonder if they got home...

We got a good 18 or 20 inches (plus what was already on the ground) and now I have to work all day clearing our massive, 1/8 mile long driveway. Bleh.

Katsucon was fair, my entire body now aches from the rave. Though the best part of those things is honestly hanging out with my old friends from high school, who I almost never get to see these days.
By the way... the 6 inches was what was there when we escaped... the hotel offered extra days to those who could not leave (although they still had to pay, of course) but with the 2 feet or so that is up there right now, it appears that they will be snowed in till Wednesday. This amuses me, for I have a few enemies who will be stuck there. HA!
By the way, Zhaneel... ask your friends if they saw me. [description]Short guy, dressed in black, black hat decorated with copper wire & chain, was honestly thought to be a pimp by the cashier at a deli (though I had my extra stylin' cane sword with me at the time), could be noticed at the rave either shirtless or open shirted, wielding 2 red glowsticks and either flinging himself all over the place while miraculously maintaining his balance and not killing anyone or maiming himself; standing still holding the glowsticks horizontally and moving them symmetrically; or drawing wings and halos on friends and random entities of the female persuasion using the aforementioned glowsticks.[/description]

I'll ask 'em when I see them next, which could be a while depending on the weather.

I'm glad we don't have much of that here in central TX, but hope everyone is safe that lives up there...:)

Well, my entire body now aches from 4 hours of shoveling that thar snow.

By the way, to anyone who might be wondering, Mazzak is prone to doing hilariously embarrassing things. :p

I'm here in beautiful Cleveland, where we only had 19 inches, and of course we'll have bloody school on my birthday tomorrow because we never close down. I was downtown last night, went to a 4-hour show and came out to find our car under a good 2-3 inches of snow, then drove home in it. Fun stuff, lemme tell ya.
