Anti-Aircraft Artillery [PreDH]

Back in 2019, one of my decks built for the West Coast Commander League was helmed by Gosta Dirk and crammed full of cards to attempt to fulfill special point categories for the League. One of the point categories involved causing creatures to gain flying, so I threw in Predator, Flagship and a bunch of spells to give creatures flying. Ever since then, I've been meaning to revisit the Predator, Flagship thing with some deck built more fully around that gimmick. Well, that deck is finally here.

So many of the key cards for this concept were older that at some point I figured I might as well make the whole thing PreDH-legal. And that's pretty much it. I give your guys flying, then I shoot them down. Oh, don't look at me like that. It could work! Stars align, something, something. But it could. It's not out of the question.

I got to take this into its first game last night. I was outclassed by everyone else at the table, but got to have a bit of fun messing with them anyway. I even managed to kill Visara the Dreadful with Earthbind.

Played this deck in yet another game where it was completely outclassed. One of my opponents was playing a very high power-level deck. Didn't stand a chance.

After the other players in my first pod went home, I jumped over to a table where two more players were also leaving and joined, grabbing this deck because I hadn't played it in a while. One of my opponents seriously pulled his commander, which I never asked about or bothered to look for, from hiding under his playmat (seriously?) and revealed that it was Giada, Font of Hope. I knew I was going to lose this one quickly and uneventfully. Of course, he came right out of the gate swinging with Serra Ascendant. Yeah, total mismatch.
