I just got this game last weekend and though it's an oldie, it's a goodie! It's just my type of a war/strategy game: turn-based and easy to learn. It's also pretty funny 
I just finished the tutorial missions and started the campaign, so I'm not too far into it, but what I've played so far is pretty good. The AI so far isn't too shabby: pulled back units that were in range of my artillery and didn't use CO powers the moment it could; it waited until more of my units could be affected.
Definitely going to ask for Advance Wars 2 for Christmas
