About the "I have XXX posts issue"

After thinking about it, it really is an anooying type of spam. But at the same time, the 100 and 1000 posts are really fun. At the 100, we have just gotten someone who will probably be with us for a long time. And the 1000 are so rare that they are just plain fun.

For all the numbers inbetween, just include it on one of your regular posts. Like if someone got 500 posts, they could just say "This is my 500th post" in the message and go about regularly.

Okay, enough deseption. I have 666 posts! This is my one and only satanic post! This is all just spam! Hwaa ha ha ha!!!

I mean, how does one find it "fun" to declare how many posts he or she has? I reached 500, and even a 1000; I didn't say a thing.

Anyway, if anyone here thinks it's "fun", then yeah, I agree with Hawaiian Mage. Only tell us as a side note, unless you have a 1000 post or whatever.

I don't feel like it's too much effort to look to the left a couple inches and see the number of posts a user has; you don't have to "tell" the world about it.

But if you want to include it in a post, I guess it's fine. As long as subsequent posts don't degenerate into "celebrating", because then it's not different than if you started a new thread to begin with.
