    The Dojo is Dying

Ferret: I know to give you guys time, it's just that I'm forseeing complaints about say, the choices of 7th edition when I don't think there are enough voices to influence those choices (at least, the way you want to). I also did see on the Dojo that there weren't going to be updates for a...

    Why fear change?

It's with the minatures. I had got a dwarf army together right before Magic came out and was getting into BloodBowl (the football version), Man O'War (sea battles) and a Squat army for Warhammer Epic. Now it looks like none of those are supported now by Games Workshop except for good ol'...

    The Dojo is Dying

Dune Echo: I thank thee for the compliment. I don't normally think of myself as the argumentive type though, it's just that... I like what you guys are doing and all, it's just that personally, I don't share your (CPA) beefs against WOTC. As I'm sure many of you have picked up from here and...

    Why fear change?

I'm pretty much like you, Ferret, except Warhammer is re-kindling an interest.

    Nemesis

I have absolutly no idea as I haven't played with the cards at all. :)

    Arena, who plays?

    I don't, because a) I don't know if there's any nearby (Baltimore, MD) b) I've actually stopped playing Magic for a while.

    The Dojo is Dying

Dune Echo: Just some thoughts on your post: "Actually Chaos Turtle, we've all agreed to take a much more positive approach to what WotC is doing. They've actually listened to the general populace in regards to the game's speed. Maybe they'll listen to us some more if we continue to be positive...

    Info

Hey, can I get the nickname Wall-Crawler? Vanity takes its toll... :)

Whoa, was that a Memory Lapse you just used?

I had a deck with Memory Lapse and Booby Trap. It wasn't well tuned so the actual Booby Trap Kill happened maybe twice out of 10 or so games. It's also good (well, was) when someone used an expendable resource (Dark Ritual, Gemstone Mine with one counter) to cast something. Then you could...

    Substitute for Cursed Scroll?

If it's not Type II then the Rack is always great with discard.

    Is Blue, Casual Friendly?

I would say yes, blue can be casual-friendly if designed right. If you're maximizing the counterspells and basically playing a well-tuned tourney deck like Draw-Go, that's not casual friendly. If you're playing a fun, theme merfolk deck (I don't know if any "Fish" decks have won tourneys) then...

    The Dojo is Dying

The only big names I can think of are (oddly enough since they were just mentioned by Zadok) are Gizmo and Treefolk.

    Why fear change?

TomB: Somehow I missed your post yesterday, otherwise I would have replied to it: There's still activity on the old forums, just mostly nonsense as I've told Ferret before. Gizmo's still there though as one of the few original quality posters. There are still dissenting opinions though...

    The Baron's latest article

Well, I agreed with it mostly except I believe I'm a bit more optimistic about Pokemon staying around. First, since it came out as a cartoon and a video game before a CCG, I believe as long as they're around interest in the cards will stay. Second, I believe it's actually living up to its name...

    Fess up!

I'll say no also, for most of the reasons said above. Perhaps another question needs to asked: When does a casual player become a not-casual player?

    question on articles

There's a bulletin on the main page saying that four articles have been posted but I can't find them after searching through the various categories. Are they dated 1-29-00 or is the bulletin referring to earlier ones, like from 1-22-00?

    The Dojo is Dying

Boy, where to jump in on this... The new forums have gone downhill but mainly because of the current inhabitants. As Ferret said they're mostly one-liners, flamers, no-real-content type posters. If the quality of posts had continued even after most of you moved over here it probably would be...

    Damage Resolution

I seem to remember combat under 5th and previous pretty much the same way. The only thing that's REALLY different is steps 6-8, the combat damage stack, and trying to define the damage prevention step would probably take up the same space.

    4+Plague Rats?

So which way did you go? Four of a card or more?

Let's Give Ed a round of applause

I'll have to agree, seeing from reading all the back threads that he's done a lot of work. Way to go!
