I was under the impression that's how banding worked ALL the time. One thing that DOES bug me is that I thought that if a Timber Wolves and Basilisk were banded together attacking and someone blocks the Wolves, the Basilisk's ability DIDN'T trigger. But that may have been under the old rules...

At least it's pretty much a "one-time" investment, in that once you reach a certain point value, that's all you have to buy. I forgot, I also have an Epic Squat army (still in the boxes though). It was like WarMaster for 40K.

Mark Justice (I think) used it in a winning tourney deck back when it was in Ice Age (95-96). If I have time I'll try to find a deck list (or maybe someone else knows). That might give you ideas on how to adapt it or ways to go.

land destruction: you'd have to reach back a bit for Thermokarst or even Ice Storm, but the idea would use red and green for the LD and red for removal and a couple big creatures from red or green for a finisher critter deck: kinda like Duel's; just pick out creatures, watching the mana curve...
