Regionals is probably NOT the place for the typical "casual" player. However, local tourneys, depending on their atmosphere and format, are probably fine for a "fun" night.

I'm really TheMaster. My goal of overrunning the CPA with off topics is working a bit slower than I hoped, but I'll get there someday!

I don't think this is being done for "popularity" or to draw more users. It's just a resource so "casual" Magic players have something to go to instead of/in addition to asking questions on the board.

Gerode: I see it as the former, a site with Magic as its focus and everything else is secondary to it. I wouldn't really mourn the loss of the forums that are non-Magic related; as I said, you can go other places for that. Heck, you can go to some of the other websites that members have put up...
