Selecting 8th: Of Moons and Miners

I just remember the Giant Slug card from The Dark that gave itself any-walk for 5 mana... a wee little 1/1 creature (admittedly, it could grow big, but back then it was just Giant Growth or Unstable Mutation).

    ZeroTK at college!

So it's a fluid sort of situation. At first I thought a group of you just stayed put. Yeah, say hi to Zadok and I'll let you know if it's possible to join you guys when the time gets closer.

If the draft starts, can you join in after? I usually have a meeting at 10:15 and sometimes it's quick and other times it's not...

Yep, the artifact, enchantment, and land will still get destroyed.

Selecting 8th: Of Moons and Miners

That actually is kind of a dopey reasoning. I mean, does this mean no more sea creatures at all, except those that might be "amphibious" or can get on land, like Giant Crabs? I mean, blue[/i] is the arena of water (and Mark Rosewater re-affirmed that in his Monday article about blue's color...

What the holy ****!? another 8th rant

I think the "bigger is better" was more an Onslaught block theme than the general direction that Magic was going... Mirrodin/8th won't necessarily reflect that.

Cool, I'll try it after/while I'm building that other deck you sent me :)

I was thinking this was because it wouldn't work, because if you remove the cards then the targets are all illegal, so it wouldn't get to the sentence you bolded.

    Spidey Advocates...

Seems kind of odd that the Advocate's ability will continue to resolve even when the target cards are gone, but I can't find anything that says it won't work so I'll give it a try. It'll be an interesting decktype for my group, that's for sure. :) I'll post my Sneak deck later in the week...

It was in the paper, but it's probably on the paper's web site. Unfortunately, I think it was a while back so you'd probably have to be a "subscriber" to get it.

Actually I do except for 1 Savannah. You better break down what the deck is supposed to do; I'm still misplaying my Sneak deck 'cause I'm unfamiliar with it :)

    Public Education Discrimination...

I don't know if this should be it's own thread.... :) I agree with the general substance of the article, general nitpicking on the first item. I think the greatest explosion of HIV transfers between heteros is in Africa, where infected men are engaging with underage girls, primarily because it...

Ferret: Exactly. You're coming from one angle and I'm coming from another. That's all. I'm just throwing a vote in for "doesn't matter 'cause it doesn't affect me" :) .

Selecting 8th: Of Moons and Miners

Just personal preference. Although they are more viable due to the Odyssey block. But each color does have its primary "tribe" and for red, goblins is it. Although Barbarians is a terrible second choice. There's a lot of "tribes" out there that aren't the main yet well supported: look at...
