I don't think it's a matter of WOTC getting "profits" off of collectors, they're just one of their audiences. I don't know what percentage of people are collectors though - presumably WOTC has that kind of data. I can't really use people I've met in real life since there are thousands of Magic...

Their reasoning is that Magic is a collectible card game - hence, one of their audiences are collectors besides players. If they reprint cards, then the collectible value goes down.

Storm Seeker (and red came out with an equivalent later and I think there's one coming in Saviors). It was originally in Legends, again a time before the color pie was nailed down. That's probably why it moved to red, because it was "more in flavor".

I think there's a card in Mirrodin block that either gives you all five mana or lets you convert colorless to each mana, but not positive...

Oh you said "1000 hours of gametime for non-members" so I assumed there was a pay option which opened up more of the game to you...

I loved the Wing Commander series - played 1 & 2 way too much in college. Always wanted to play 3 & 4 but by the time I got a new computer to play them, they were long gone... and now ironically, today's computers are too fast to play them :)

If you went the Sneak Attack route, you could also Fling for 7 more damage...
