We're going this weekend (Saturday, 9/8) to the one in Maryland with a couple of friends. I've been to it before and it's all right, but not that quite exceptional if you've gone year after year. It's basically the same old, same old. I do like the "Steak on a Stick" though :D

For three mana you get a 3/3 creature with no drawback, which is pretty much unheard of (especially in black). Then you want to add a CIP and an activated ability? This is somewhat undecosted.

Desert Twister and Bee Stings aren't targeted? It seems you'd have to make it flying with Flying Carpet and Hurricane it :) If "being untargeted makes it hard for mono-green to deal with it" is the rationale, what about all the previous green untargetable creatures like Autumn Willow or...

I think it's a cool idea. I forgot who's doing shirts; theorgg maybe, and then someone else piped in. I would suggest giving them to theorgg as he had the shirt idea AND the button maker and he was behind a card-giving away idea a long time ago.

Well, true, I think this deck was a case of looking at a card and asking what would make it work. Orcish Artillery falls along the same lines... But maybe the explanation of how the designer got to the deck might help some people think about what they can do to "help" a seemingly drawback card :)
