Well, as I said, there wasn't much verbal diplomacy going on. The first player was playing his "weird" way so I guess the only diplomacy I could do is make sure I don't put out anything early that he views as "complicated" :)

I misunderstood you, but the problem I have is that to my knowledge, the US is not in the habit of "suddenly" providing aid. It usually has a policy of doing so for quite a while.
