You have to make sure that everything is replaced in the Apprentice folder. Probably the easiest thing to do is when you unzip it, unzip it to the Apprentice folder and choose 'overwrite everything' option.

I liked them too, but there probably weren't enough cards to do something even really casual with them. The best interaction off the top of my head was Karplusan Giant (I think tapping a snow-covered land gave it +1/+1).
