Yep, if we had mingled we could have introduced ourselves to the magistrates but noooo, we had to sit tight :) My vote is to try to placate the magistrates and apologize. If we don't offend anyone further, our work is likely to go faster.

I agree it's an option, it's just that I think in some places it will still be useless to seed - desert areas, like the Middle East or the Western United States.

If you get past the religious tones (which really were only noticable to me in Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe, and only after someone mentioned it, and maybe the last one when you think about it), I thought the Narnia books were pretty good. Battles, talking creatures, history... good stuff.
