Don't play Type 1, but here are my thoughts: You say you're playing LD, but not sure if you're dealing with artifact mana as well. In Type 1, it seems you ought to be prepared for it (i.e artifacts in general), especially with the Mirrodin block stuff like Scepter and whathaveyou. The Mirror...
