I would much rather play against Counterspell and not have the potential to Mana Drain my opponent than play against Mana Drain and watch the my spell fuel a Mind Twist, Fact or Fiction, Braingeyser, Wheel of Fortune, Nevinyrral's Disk, etc.
I know that they're bad with Clamp, but as I said earlier...

I would never play it against Burn for the most part. Bringing myself down to 2 so that I can attack for the kill is not fun if the opponent has Fireblast in hand, or worse, untapped lands...
