In response to the playing of the Rakalite, I'll tap all of my land except the Plains to deal 4 points of dmg to the Demon, letting each activation resolve (and giving you 4 life). I'll then tap my Mechanic and sac the Launcher to deal the final 2 to the Demon. Any response to that? Hopefully...

I guess anything where keeping less lands than your opponent is a good thing... but not for your starting hand, unless you already have a bunch of 0 cc spells that can produce mana instead :)
