Come on, Spidey. You know it's not like that. I did call Time Vault broken and I still do. People call cards broken all the time without specifying the exact circumstances under which those cards are broken. They don't say, "Yawgmoth's Will is broken as long as you have a deck with cheap spells...

    Hall of Shame Nominations: Weatherlight

Maybe I'm missing something, but so far I can't find any REALLY bad cards in this set. It's mostly pretty good and definitely a step up in power level from the average of the two previous sets. There are some overcosted or generally mediocre effects, though. I was tempted to nominate Ancestral...

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I think Spidey was basically pointing it out because it's another point in favor of just how resilient Progenitus is, but he wasn't positive, so he phrased it as a question. Actually, I'm not sure. Spidey?

A real threat to the world

The guy who did it was a bioweapons researcher working for the army, not some random nut working out of his garage. Yep, that's the concern. That assumes that there really even was an accident. The article said there was, but it also got its information from anonymous sources that could...

Spidey: Are you saying that Planar Void wouldn't remove it from the game if it would go into a graveyard? That is true. Noble Hierarch: Good manafixer, I suppose. Maelstrom Archangel: It already costs WUBRG itself. What's its ability going to do? Play Progenitus? Actually, that could work...

But it just seems so obvious. No one, at any point, claimed that cards are broken without any other cards at all to interact with. It's just common sense that this isn't the case. How is it worth noting?

Just so everyone knows, I'm aware that it's my turn now. I can't take my draw and therefore can't post my turn until later tonight (a few hours from when I made this post) when I get back home.

I was bored. I guess technically I would be C, although I'd like to think I'm not quite as much of a jerk as that... But every card, except Dryad Arbor, must interact with other cards in order to win. It's understood that cards don't REALLY win all by themselves. They need help.

    The Year in Vintage: 2008

This is true, but seems pretty unrelated to what I was saying or really more like expounding on what I was saying. I'm not talking about decks being broken, I'm talking about individual cards being broken. And in my experience, a broken card that is banned or restricted is still referred to as...

Yeah, I dislike the colored artifacts myself, but some of them are very powerful and I'd use one in a deck without any qualms. "Protection from everything" sounds dumb, but Progenitus itself actually looks pretty good. I can see this being used in much the same way as Darksteel Colossus, except...
