    Magic: Commander #1

I tried to post here on Saturday and got an error message. Today's the first day I've been able to actually post since then. And judging by the lack of posts in that time, I might not have been the only one with this problem. Anyway, the gist of my post was something about what Spiderman said...

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Throg could not possibly eat stonebread. It's too hard. He never understood how dwarves do it. Of course, Throg can carry stonebread around if he wants. It's not like the stuff is going to spoil. I'm assuming that this is meant to refer to the corridor, not the sand trap room, as the latter...

Only if you use it on yourself. The puzzling thing is that my impression, and it may be wrong, is that this is very unlike some of the things WotC has done in the past where they went too far with something. In the past, a lot of powerful cards and mechanics had WotC going, "Oops." But with...

    Magic: Commander #1

On closer inspection, the banned list for Commander in Magic Online, which actually is official, appears to simply be derived from the banned list on the EDH site. The DCI-sanctioned list is missing Black Lotus, the moxen, Time Walk, and Ancestral Recall, presumably because they were never...

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Yes, Kelgar bravely charged in when he saw Carrow being attacked. I figure as long as Melkor isn't around, Kelgar should at least be working to defend the rest of the party, rather than just standing around while everyone gets eaten by ghouls or whatever. The pack contains a Potion of Pain...

    Magic: Commander #1

So, what's the plan regarding deckbuilding? Commander now has a sanctioned banned list through the DCI, but it's only for Magic Online, of course. I know that when we started this one, there was some confusion regarding whether any cards were banned, and Mooseman generously changed his Mox Jet...

    Sept. 20, 2010 B/R Announcement

Well, I haven't seen any rigorous analysis to properly inform that question, but my general impression is that the metagame was really favoring CounterTop decks (well, also Zoo, but Zoo has been pretty stable in its competitiveness for quite a while) around the time Survival got the axe, and...

I accept your surrender! I would be happy to give you a rematch once your comrades have surrendered as well. For none can stop the mighty Zur! Yeah. Let's do another one.

    Sept. 20, 2010 B/R Announcement

Thread necromancy time! What a healthy metagame this led to. Stoneforge Mystic, Threshold, Stoneforge Mystic, Green Sun's Zenith, Zoo, Stoneforge Mystic, Dredge, Green Sun's Zenith, High Tide, Stoneforge Mystic and Green Sun's Zenith, ANT, Stoneforge Mystic, Stoneforge Mystic, maybe a bit more...

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

The sand is still piling up. It hasn't gotten high enough to pour into the corridor where Throg is standing, but it shows no signs of draining anywhere. However, Kelgar retrieves the only visible object in the room other than the ghoul corpses before he walks out. It's an old backpack.

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Throg overcomes his fear and finishes the last of the ghouls with a blow from his axe. -Throg collects 80 gold. -Dorgath collects 220 gold. -Kelgar collects 100 gold. -Carrow collects 80 gold.

Leroy is confused and happy...and many other things as well.

So yesterday while I was in the process of writing my previous post in this thread, I actually cracked the screen on my computer because of some stupid unrelated thing I was doing, and got a bit distracted, but didn't want to redo it, so somewhere around the fourth paragraph, I just wrapped...

I can only imagine what they were thinking with Temporal Mastery. Thunderous Wrath was the one that first got my attention, and it's very good, but Temporal Mastery is just crazy.

I never had one either, because I'm not old. :p

    Got any deck ideas?

40-card decks? Either sligh or black aggro could be good here. Lots of creatures that can hit hard and quickly, but are commons and not really top-tier in terms of power, so I'd imagine they'd be pretty cheap, and with the small deck sizes you'd run into these cards pretty reliably...

Leroy is confused and happy...and many other things as well.

This is an interesting misconception that I never paid much attention to for a long time. Disdain for net-decking is about as old as, well, as old as netdecking and you're in good company, but I still say there's something about this that's a bit—off. And because you were the first person to...

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

-The Power Phase is 1 for this turn, but unexpected events do not occur in the Sand Trap. -Kelgar blesses himself with Vanquish. Kelgar gains an extra attack this turn. -Dorgath throws one of his firebombs (7 remaining). Apparently Dorgath's aim is perfect, and four ghouls are struck down by the...

Never heard of it before until one day...

I've known about Soul Barrier for like, wow, I guess it must be like thirteen or fourteen years. But I've hardly ever bothered with it. The option to either pay mana or pay life doesn't limit opponents enough for my taste. If you can combine it with enough other cards to deny opponents, then...
