In Type I they use like one or two lands in Belcher decks, so that lands aren't an issue. But it's not reliable enough... I'm sure that casually, a Belcher/Severance deck would be pretty powerful though...

Yes, but in fairness, my deck wasn't built for those cards... I'm not sure about yours though. It uses Bargain and Necro, both of which are life-intensive card-drawers. Pox is not friendly to decks with large hands or decks that pay life. Also, many of your spells cost more than three, which...

Yeah, but then after restricting it they banned Channel in Type I for a while... From 1995 to 2000 actually... Which is sort of odd. You'd think restricting it would have been enough. Same thing happened to Mind Twist. I can't think of what caused that series of events though... Channel-Torch...

The same turn? They're both artifacts, so that seems kind of tough... But this deck did fall apart to significant hate. It sure ate up decks that weren't ready for it though...

That's still two specific restricted cards in the opening hand, plus two other specific, non-restricted cards (assuming Earthcraft were unrestricted), plus a basic Forest, plus some kill that relies on colorless mana only, like Altar of Dementia or something... I won't say that there's no hope...
