My main concern is with setting up and protecting the lock... Possessed Portal is not cheap. It would also really suck if you do cast the Portal, and then it is blown up...

Death is the opposite of life, fiction is the opposite of reality. I think the idea of you competing against life and reality is, well, just as absurd as you evidently think it is. So I don't see why death and fiction can't team up and compete too... No, I'm not sure why I gave them that large...

Well, the lifeloss would be dangerous against aggro maybe, but it could thin the deck a bit and automatically put a Bayou in play... I don't know whether contagion would help or not. It's tough to tell. Thinking laterally, what about Abyssal Gatekeeper?

This is way off-topic, but it's pretty cool. I was goldfishing with my bad highlander deck and I got Power Surge, Mana Barbs, Citadel of Pain, and Furnace of Rath out. The deck doesn't really use that many enchantments, but I happened to draw all of those...
