Those do count as cards and so do the lands, which is why I said 38. As far as Black Lotus is concerned, we've stayed away from power nine cards with these decks so far and I think that it was one of the original criteria when we started the first one, but I'm not going to be the one to say you...

Edit: I had added a card (Gauntlet of Might), but I've done a count and for some reason, it said 36 in the card count when it was really 38 (probably my fault anyway). So I'd say move straight on to the manabase. 24 lands is probably right for this deck... Card Count: 38 Land Count : 2
