Well, there are a LOT more copies of the cards that went on to be reprinted in Revised than any of the other cards in A/B/U. So a card, even if it sucks, is more likely to be used if it has been reprinted. I've seen a lot of inexperienced players build decks with crap like the Laces. And then...

The longer each game is, the less likely that becomes. If we started with few enough chips, I might win a couple games out of 500. But not many. I'm very bad at poker. And I'm very unlucky... :p

That's what I'm talking about. It's not "anti-combo." It's just fast enough to shut everyone down, including the combo players. You obviously can't counterspell everything by yourself, but a control (or prison) deck with good, proactive disruption can at least give the combo players a run for...
