Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Some time passes. Anton seems to be as awake as he is going to get. Throg and Dorgath make a reluctant return to (almost) total sobriety. Dorgath lifts the magic trap-door, revealing a dark, narrow chute with a rope ladder leading down into the darkness.

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Arcttus rouses Anton by shaking him. Note: everyone that was wounded on entering this room consumed ale. Through healing items and ale consumption, everyone is now at full Wounds. However, Dorgath and Throg will still be inebriated for another three turns.

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Other than seeming almost insubstantial and obviously being a product of magic, the trapdoor doesn't appear to be dangerous.

Warhammer Quest: Death Below Karak Azgal

Dorgath plies the femur from Throg. He's still feeling pretty tipsy, but he proceeds anyway. As Dorgath places the bones, a deep thrumming fills the air and an area of blackness coagulates in the corner of the room. As it clears, you see, in place of the alcove, a shimmering trapdoor in the floor.

This one isn't funny either! I'm beginning to doubt their dedication to April Fools Day.

    MTGO Buddy

That's exactly what I thought. But I'm pretty sure Microsoft Office moved on from that (I don't use Microsoft Office at home, but I've used it at school quite a lot, and Clippy wasn't around in Office 2007 from what I could see). So the feature of Microsoft Office that was universally derided...

    MTGO Buddy

So I don't play MTGO and haven't even seen it in almost a decade. I'm not familiar with things there, but this is an April Fools Day thing, right? I mean, it seems like it's probably kind of funny, but I feel like an outsider on whatever the real joke is...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

Goblins, elves, and zombies were off the table for previous tribal games here, with the exception of the highlander tribal game we played. The distinction is that for that game, which was probably bound to be something of a one-off, was strictly highlander, with no duplicates of any cards, not...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

Yeah, that'd cover the deckbuilding rules. I mean, we wouldn't want to call it EDH, since that's just the original name for Commander. More like Highlander Tribal. Well, not quite, because the creatures in the tribe wouldn't be restricted. Maybe Quasi-Highlander Tribal.

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

One key difference: no Commander. That makes all tribes eligible, not just those containing a legendary creature. It also removes the fancy interactions with commanders that are so format-defining. This is basically just another version of tribal. It's even pretty similar to the tribal...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

So this would make every creature type, including the ones with zero printed cards, legal as tribes. Amusing, but not particularly problematic. A Brushwagg deck is going to be a huge disadvantage against, say, a bird deck. I thought about this for a few seconds and actually, I like this more...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

Not really applicable to Highlander formats. The "restricted" part of the Vintage restricted list refers to only allowing one copy of a card. In Highlander (Commander is a variant of Highlander), all cards other than basic lands are already "restricted." The Vintage banned list consists entirely...

    For those Blue mind-benders.

I'm skeptical that the cards that refer to "when" something dies "this turn" (unless they also specified some condition that would kill the card) don't sound odd. Also, I don't see any reason that "if" couldn't be a trigger condition. Maybe the issue is that players looking for trigger...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

Since Mistform Ultimus, Lorwyn came out with the "changeling" mechanic, which seems very similar. Mistform Ultimus has never been retroactively given "changeling" even though the wording in his text box is very similar to the wording for the changeling mechanic. Rule 702.70 indicates that even...

    Tribal Tournament Discussion

1/3 of a 60-card deck is 20 cards, not 33. I explained this in one of my posts, but it was a long post. With the 1/3 rule, 20 slots in a 60-card deck have to go to creatures of the chosen tribe. One of my tribes, chimeras, only has four different cards: Iron-Heart Chimera, Brass-Talon Chimera...
