Synergy in the case of Magic is cards working together to produce a more powerful effect so that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." A good example of synergy is the famous/infamous Donate + Ilusions of Grandeur combo.

I hated 6th for the rules changes, and it isn't that powerful, but it has some good choices for reprints (and some bad ones)... I don't see 5th as being worse than 4th by too much though...

Ironically enough, as others pointed out, they don't see Illusions of Grandeur being used as originally intended. It actually can be abused, at least more than Forbidden Ritual wiout the errata. Illusions doesn't have an errata though... Now, I don't want Illusions to have an errata, even...

It doesn't have any sort of upkeep or any other obligation. The number of spells will be lowered overall, but with MP, you're still going to get some most likely. I'd try it...

I would go with the latter, because it's a more versatile strategy...

Whereas I beat life-gain consistently with it, but that shows how much variation there is in the game... Necropotence is a favorite of mine, but it's not the best card in the game. That title easily goes to the insane card-drawer: Mystic Remora.

Carrion maybe... Kaervek's Spite, even with the errata... But basically anything that gets you tokens... Infernal Genesis, Saproling Burst, that sort of thing...

No, Chant is past Prophecy. In fact, I'm not sure as to what the reason for Therapy not being in there is. Maybe he thinks that there are enough ways to kill Rector already, but Therapy is the best one, even if it is from a newer set...

I dispute that. The greatest point about Lake is that it taps to produce FOUR mana for the price of a swamp. Being legendary is just icing on the cake. But the card is great... Why not include a Necropotence or something? It looks like that would work...

But it's cool and a fun deck to play...
