If I understand correctly, Stifle could stop the original, but not any copies OR it could stop the triggered ability of the Rings, but then not stop the original (unless you use two Stifles). Still, it looks like this could be very good.

I guess I'm not used to using 28 creatures in any 60-card deck. While there are exceptions, to be sure, it seems like a good way to lose. 16 seems to be well within the reasonable range one might want to use.
