My casual decks for the interested
By Martti Nurmikari
Here are my current decks (15 of them, sorry if this is a bit long). As you can probably tell, my
environment is casual type 1 and I don't really care about type restrictions or MBC

Overburden/Ankh of Mishra
4x Ankh of Mishra
4x Overburden

4x Counterspell
4x Mana Drain
2x Psionic Blast
3x Gaea's Blessing

4x Flying Men
4x Serendib Efreet
2x Vesuvan Doppelganger
4x Unstable Mutation

1x Eye of Ramos
1x Sylvan Library
1x Jayemdae Tome

16x Island
3x Tropical Island
1x Pendelhaven
1x City of Brass
1x Forest

It would be AnkhTide if I could afford Parallax Tides, but it's playable in it's current version.
Also, the Flying Men are my favourite cards so I put them in

4x Llanowar Elves
4x Priest of Titania
3x Quirion Elves
3x Fyndhorn Elves
3x Elvish Lyrist
1x Skyshroud Elf

4x Academy Rector
2x Pangosaur

3x Recycle
2x Fireball
2x Seal of Cleansing
1x Abundance

1x Emerald Charm
1x Concordant Crossroads
3x Land Grant

1x Sol Ring
1x Ashnod's Altar

14x Forest
2x Brushland
3x Plateau
1x Savannah
1x Plains

Generate lots of mana and fireball them to death. Try to get a fast Recycle so you can play a horde
of elves quickly. Opponent holding a counterspell? Well that sucks

Erhnamgeddonish thingy
4x Hunted Wumpus
4x River Boa
4x Warrior En-Kor
4x Birds of Paradise
4x Soltari Priest
2x Wall of Roots
1x Groundskeeper
1x Erhnam Djinn

4x Rancor
1x Forgotten Harvest
1x Sylvan Library

2x Seal of Cleansing

3x Armageddon
2x Swords to Plowshares
1x Balance

11x Forest
8x Plains
2x Brushland

One of my favourite archetypes ever. This version isn't that good, but I don't have any Mothers and
I just wanted to play with my four new Wumpuses

Gritty Kitty
4x Stalking Tiger
3x Panther Warriors
3x Mtenda Lion
2x Cat Warriors
2x Pouncing Jaguar
1x Mirri, Cat Warrior
1x King Cheetah
1x Uktabi Wildcats

3x Gift of the Woods (the one with a cat in the picture)
3x Waiting in the Weeds
1x Natural Order

4x Savannah Lions
4x Glittering Lynx
4x Glittering Lion
3x Jamuraan Lion

12x Forest
8x Plains
1x Grasslands

A feline theme deck.. I like cats so I built this.

Your Stuff Goes Boom
4x Hydroblast
4x Pyroblast
4x Red Elemental Blast
4x Blue Elemental Blast

3x Sleight of Mind
1x Diminishing Returns

3x Rhystic Study
2x Inferno
2x Frenetic Efreet

4x Black Vise (yes, this is a very illegal deck)
4x Distorting Lens
2x Howling Mine
1x Feldon's Cane

11x Island
7x Mountain
3x Volcanic Island

Easily my favourite deck. With 16 blasts and 4 Distorting lens, you essentially have 16 spells in the
deck that say "Destroy target permanent". This is really fun to play, especially if you get a Lens
in your starting hand.

Red/Green LD
4x Seal of Fire
4x Incinerate
4x Lightning Bolt

4x Llanowar Elves
4x Blastoderm
2x Nettletooth Djinn

4x Avalanche Riders
4x Stone Rain
4x Pillage
2x Thermokarst
1x Winter's Grasp

1x Sol Ring

10x Mountain
7x Forest
3x Taiga
1x Mountain Valley
1x Strip Mine

This is a very unoriginal deck, but it's effective. Not good for casual play though, because it's
boring just to blow up land

The Convergence Deck that Sucks
4x Spiritual Asylum
4x Fountain Watch
2x Celestial Convergence
3x Scroll Rack
2x Land Tax
1x Island Sanctuary
1x Moat
1x Ivory Mask

2x Swords to Plowshares
2x Wrath of God
2x Witch Hunter
1x Gerrard's Wisdom
1x Abolish
1x Disenchant
1x Erase
1x Renounce

4x Caltrops
2x Fountain of Youth
1x Zuran Orb
1x Feldon's Cane

21x Plains

The title says it all. It's based on the Spiritual Asylum/Fountain Watch-combo, but it's boring and
I don't want to tune it any further

4x Duress
4x Hymn to Tourach
4x Sinkhole
4x Parallax Nexus
4x Dark Ritual
4x Pox
4x Phyrexian Negator
3x Demonic Consultation
1x Yawgmoth's Will
1x Unmask

3x The Rack
2x Nevinyrral's Disk

18x Swamp
3x Mishra's Factory
1x Dust Bowl

My only serious type 1 deck at the moment. It used to be a Necro but I got bored of it and traded the
Necropotences away. It's not a very "casual" deck by it's nature, but it's fun to play and exciting
to play against. I think I should replace the Negators with Hypnotic Specters but I don't have any.
Also a fourth Rack would be good.

3x Blinding Angel
3x Serra Angel
1x Avenging Angel
1x Herald of Serra
1x Starlit Angel (Portal)
1x Angelic Favor
2x Voice of Reason
1x Voice of Law
2x Voice of Duty
1x Voice of Grace
1x Copper-Leaf Angel
1x Sustainer of the Realm
1x Seraph
1x Radiant, Archangel
1x Warrior Angel
1x Serra Advocate

4x Swords to Plowshares
3x Divine Transformation
2x Pacifism
1x Purify
1x Allay
1x Seal of CLeansing
1x Erase
1x Angelic Renewal
1x Divine Offering
1x Serra's Blessing
1x Remembrance

21x Plains

This deck sucks, but I don't care because an Angel deck is in my opinion just as cool as a theme deck
can be.. The remembrance is nearly useless, but I love the picture. Also, I guess some mana acceleration
or Urza's Incubators would be in order, but why would Angels come from a box designed by Urza? And I
hate the plot anyway

Rats of Life
4x Crypt Rats
4x Inviolability
4x Spirit Link

4x Bone Shredder
4x Order of Leitbur

4x Dark Ritual
3x Seal of doom
2x Spinning Darkness

2x Disenchant
2x Seal of Cleansing
1x Honor the Fallen
1x Story Circle

2x Skull of Ramos
1x Circle of Despair

1x Safe Haven
11x Swamp
10x Plains

Built for multiplayer, the Spirit Link/Crypt Rats/Inviolability combo is fun to pull off. Unfortunately
someone always has that damn Swords to Plowshares so it won't last long.. also some sort of recursion
would be in order. Also, some recursion could maybe fit in

I Wish You To Death (also known as the Crappiest Artifacts on Earth)
4x Wishmonger
3x Grapeshot Catapult
3x Yotian Soldier
3x Clay Statue
2x Shapeshifter
2x Aesthir Glider
1x Obsianus Golem
1x Urza's Avenger
1x Phyrexian War Beast
1x Clockwork Avian
1x Juggernaut
1x Tetravus

3x Memory Jar
2x Fellwar Stone
1x Mindless Automaton
1x Voltaic Key
1x Shield of the Ages
1x Zuran Orb
1x Crumbling Sanctuary
1x Mana Vault
1x Magma Mine

2x Disenchant

8x Plains
4x Urza's Mine
4x Urza's Power Plant
4x Urza's Tower
1x Mishra's Factory

The point of this deck is to play Wishmonger and then laugh in evil manner as my creatures rampage
protected from the opponent's deck color through his or her creatures, dealing massive blows until
he or she is dead. The only thing that stands between making this deck invincible is the fact that
most of my artifact creatures suck. I'm waiting eagerly the Saga block to go away from Type 2 so that
I can afford some Masticores
(but I honestly think that this deck will continue sucking)

Statesman Tim
4x Statecraft
1x Cowardice

4x Zuran Spellcaster
3x Prodigal Sorcerer
2x Suq'ata Firewalker
2x Thornwind Faeries
2x Raven Familiar

4x Brainstorm
3x Impulse
3x Sigil of Sleep
3x Counterspell
2x Foil
2x Flash Counter
2x Rhystic Study
1x Capsize

21x Island

With Statecraft, the Tims can block any creature and survive while pinging the opponent to death. I
think this deck packs too much search and too little offense, but I don't feel like digging my common
piles for more Tims so it can stay this way

The Evil Deck
1x Harbringer of Night
1x Shimian Night Stalker
1x Banshee
1x Demonic Hordes
1x Eater of the Dead
1x Ebon Praetor
1x Shauku, Endbringer
1x Minion of Leshrac
1x Aku Djinn
1x Fallen Angel
1x Stromgald Cabal
1x Body Snatcher
1x The Fallen
1x Dread Wight
1x Grave Robbers
1x Ghost Hounds
1x Frankenstein's Monster

1x Reign of Terror
1x Sacrifice
1x Dark Triumph
1x Ashes to Ashes
1x Dark Ritual
1x Infernal Contract
1x Vendetta
1x Dark Banishing
1x Slaughter
1x Bottomless Pit
1x Haunting Wind
1x Artifact Possession
1x Darkness
1x Inquisition
1x Infernal Harvest
1x Season of the Witch
1x Songs of the Damned
1x Gate to Phyrexia
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Carrion
1x Purging Scythe
1x Cursed Rack

20x Swamp

The point of this deck is to include only stuff that has either an evil name or an evil picture.
I don't think you could win a game with this, but who knows...

The Christianity Deck
1x Soul Warden
1x Exorcist
1x Vigilant Martyr
1x Preacher
1x Witch Hunter

1x Retribution of the Meek
1x Divine Retribution
1x Spiritual Focus
1x Pursuit of Knowledge
1x Righteous Aura
1x Fasting
1x Brainwash
1x Noble Purpose
1x Wrath of God
1x Illumination
1x Sanctimony
1x Presence of the Master
1x Conversion
1x Cleansing
1x Holy Light
1x Humility
1x Miraculous Recovery
1x Pacifism
1x Blessing
1x Holy Armor
1x Martyr's Cry
1x Afterlife
1x Dust to Dust
1x Penance
1x Celestial Dawn
1x Hallowed Ground
1x Spiritual Sanctuary
1x Morale
1x Fire and Brimstone
1x Equipoise
1x Holy Strength
1x Blood of the Martyt
1x Peace of Mind
22x Plains

This is another highlander theme deck, based around Christianity. I'm not a devoting Christian, and I
hope I don't offend anyone with this, as it is not the decks purpose.
I don't think you can actually win with this unless you are VERY lucky, but it's cool in my opinion
and fun in multiplayer, as you can do lots of stuff if people let you live after you Dust to Dust
a Colossus of Sardia and a Masticore

The Neopagan deck
1x Liege of the Hollows
1x Caller of the Hunt
1x Master of the Hunt
1x Force of Nature
1x Argothian Treefolk
1x Maro
1x Elvish Lyrist
1x Elder Druid
1x Priest of Titania
1x Quirion Druid
1x Citanul Druid
1x Argothian Pixies
1x Fyndhorn Druid
1x Yavimaya Elder
1x Sacred Prey

1x Oath of Druids
1x Call of the Wild
1x Cycle of Life
1x Reclaim
1x Regrowth
1x Gaea's Blessing
1x Vernal Bloom
1x Lure of Prey
1x Gaea's Touch
1x Stream of Life
1x Natural Balance
1x Wanderlust
1x Lifeforce
1x Living Lands
1x Wild Growth
1x Bounty of the Hunt
1x Channel
1x Nature's Chosen
1x Crumble
1x Nature's Lore
1x Nature's Resurgence
1x Volrath's Gardens
1x Hidden Path

21x Forest
1x Jungle Basin

As with the Christianity deck, this is a religion-based theme deck. Again, I don't mean to offend
anyone with this. I think it could be better concentrated on the theme, but I like to play with it
as it can perform unbelievable feats in multiplayer
It'd need more druids though

Well, there they are, I hope you enjoyed reading about them as much as I enjoyed writing the deck lists *grin*. I love e-mail, so please send any possible feedback to

Casual play forever!
