Is it me, or are opinions over the worthiness of Invasion about to start seperating us? The last time I saw this happen was way back in late last winter when the whole "Direction" of the CPA were discussed (it was scarry, there were two opposing factions, the expanders and the isolationists, and frienships were almost lost). I'm goimg to try and shut up about it for a while.
This has only been a warning, not a threat.

When MTGnews was my "major" discussion board, I had to put up with "I hate MM", "I hate Nemesis" and all that. I had to shut some people up too.

AND EVEN now, when you go to MTGnews you'll see that people are still complaining over and over again. They are yet again complaining about a new set. It's a trend. A bad habit that must be followed.

I expect the CPA memebers to be a bit more mature about this problem than the MTGnews members. Don't make us argue about something you know that will turn out good in the future.
Invasion will be great as time passes by, and it already have shown some affection to some people, which includes me.

Whatever you do, please don't complain yet, wait a month, try the cards for REAL, and ONLY THEN, come here and shout out your point of view: whatever it is!
Just don't judge now.
I know a couple of people who are too judgemental about new sets, as well as other things in life, and guess what, those people are nothig but mere loosers waiting to die out to great players like us.

Keep up the good work YellowJacket, and don't get mad.

I don`t think the fact that we disagree about something shows that we are disintegrating, rather that we are a mature forum able to discuss and debate issues we do not all agree on without somebody taking their ball home in a huff.

It`s a good thing, surely. Not all arguments are flame wars.

I see no real problem here. Personally I love Invasion. So do a lot of other people. A lot of other other people hate it. This exact same thing was said by a lot of people I know upon seeing the MM spoiler. Now, having used it for a year, most of that hostility is gone.

All I can say is, all of this minor flaming will go away after a while. It's not hurting anything, so I say let it go.

Although some of us don't like the set and others do, we're only discussing our opinions and points of view, although somewhat passionatly, its all good.

Yellowjacket: the fact that we disagree doesn't mean we're gonna fall apart. As long as we're doing it in a mature fashion, and not just mindlessly flaming (which hasn't been a problem, yet), there's nothing wrong. Everybody disagrees on things.

Don't make us argue about something you know that will turn out good in the future

? I don't think that arguing about this is a problem, but if people close their minds, and don't listen to others, then it could be. We don't know it will turn out well. You don't know it will turn out well. It's as if you have ignored arguments by many members about why this will not turn out well. In my mind, it's a terrible set that will make type 2 incredibly boring and have no effect on any other format. But I recognize that other people don't share this opinion. You just decide it will turn out well, don't share any reasons you feel this way, and assume that everyone else shares your opinion. Geez.

By the way, is English your second language? No offense if it isn't, it just strikes me that way somehow.

I just finished reading the thread 'Invasion... too powerful' (I assume that's what you're talking about) and I don't think the discussion was THAT bad. Like the science thread, some argument is good and there weren't any dumb flames like there could have been.

I don't think this is a problem in the slightest, actually, it's rather to be expected of any set rotation. We're losing some really great cards, and we're getting a set that could probably be a bit stronger (*understatement of the decade*). This is bound to bring up some contraversy.

That's fine, everyone's discussing it in a fairly cilivized mannner, no public flaming is going on, and everyone seems to be having a grand old time screaming and yelling at people for being wrong. Sounds like every other day at the office to me.

The idea of a civilized debate is lost on some of us.
Yes, eventually a debate will become personal and flamewars will happen.
A civilized debate aims to conclude a debate with either having one faction convinced or a compromise. Usually the latter.
I personally think Masques block was okay. Invasion is simply too slow.

Its good, a balanced set. However, I am somewhat dissapointed with all the reprints (official and non). Other than that, its alll good
