Answer: They're fencing weapons.

I gave a lot of leeway on this one; about one third of the answers merely said "they're swords" and may not have known about the fencing part, but I figured this one was close enough.

Hey! I did know they were fencing swords, you need to be more strict when it helps me, and less strict when I need it

Well, we can always go for exact answer, but I figure the leeway might help you at some point

I'll take the leeway anyday. I knew they were used in fencing, but didn't want to be too specific incase you were looking for something like: Weapons used in the Olympics, or something of that sort.
You're doing fine with relation to specifics of the answers.
