Shipwrecked - card 13

Last round, at least 3 people were hoping someone else would end the bidding immediately. Or, at the least, they were trying to protect against someone else stopping immediately. As was pointed, out, the first round Strikes would have all cancelled each other out, meaning that any player could have stopped immediately and won the bid (assuming Jigglypuff didn't play a Stop to cause bidlock).

Whether that was the idea behind Gerode stopping immediately or if he just wanted someone to have to pay a high price to get this card, I'm not sure. He might have been hoping for bidlock to make someone pay to stop him. Either way, Gerode stopped the bidding immediately.

Gerode: Stop
rkoelsch: Pass
Spiderman: Pass
Jigglypuff: Strike

This time, only Jigglypuff tried to protect. Which is bad news for Gerode since he doesn't get to win flat out (no additional Strikes to cancel out). He still has to work for it ;). Of course, this being his turn again, he still has a good position with gems, but Jigglypuff is not shabby either.

Current turn: Gerode (4 income)

Gems/Resources (color-points-income):
Gerode: 9 / Lean-to (tan-20-2), People (purple-50-0), Stream (blue-40-1), Fruit (green-30-1) (140 pts)
rkoelsch: 7 / Lizard (purple-20-2), Rats (green-20-2), Artesian Well (blue-50-0) (90 pts)
Spiderman: 12 / Cricket (purple-10-2) (10 pts)
Jigglypuff: 7 / Wild Boar (green-50-0) , Bugs and Slugs (green-10-2), Cave (tan-30-1), Tree House (tan-50-0) (140 pts)

Sold Resources: none

While rkoelsch and (especially) Spiderman have their work cut out for them, this is still potentially anyone's game.

Next item up for grabs: Rain Barrel (blue-30-1).

Bids are due Friday, May 3.
