Well, it's me again! Guess who has serious issues again!
I am faced with a paradox. I am 13-14 years old, and most of my friends who i play against have a huge advantage over me: They have support.
I have been playing for maybe two, three years. These guys don't have my experience, they don't have the same investment, timewise or lifewise, in the game as me, but what they do have is parents who played.
My buddy, he has a father who played since alpha and who has incredible cards. I respect them both a lot, and I find that they are great people, but it really chapped my (expletive deleted) when sharru gets his hands on cards from his dad. Regularly, they buy displays. Also, I got into a morningtide draft two days ago. In america, that's probably a while ago, but here in germany, morningtide is something brand new. We drafted, and I got a rhys, the exiled (3 mana, 3/2 elf warrior, whenever he attacks, you get 1 life for each elf you control, B, sac an elf: regen. Rhys). We both play (in constructed) elf decks, so I was stoked. Then, at the end, the rares weren't divided as originally planned (winner picks first, etc.), but shuffled off randomly. I was pretty upset about that, because guess who now has the Rhys? Yep, him. His father got it and gave it to him immediately.
But that's not all. Another one of my friends has elder supervision. My other buddy, buttleech, he has a dad is also an Alpha player. I have respect for the guy, but one thing is just killing me. I'll make a quick list of the cards he gave buttleech, my biggest rival.
4x Lightning Bolt
Crystalline Slivers
Acid Slivers
4x Ball Lightning
An entire goblin deck, equipped with insanely powerful burn spells
SLIVER QUEEN...
The list goes on for ages. It drives me nuts. Plus, those guys get displays all the time as well, so buttleech always has lots of new cards. When he said, "Come on, let's do a standard tournament," I almost punched him in the face. I have next to no cards from after Ravnica, City Of Guilds. I could kill that jerk!
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Till next time. Peace to the world, Death to the moneybags.
