Question about card buying.

Well, I'm thinking of picking up a few Mishra's Factory's and all that... but I don't know a good price to bargain this guy down to. I haven't even read a price guaging magazine like Scrye in a couple years, and I'm pretty rusty on determining the older sets anyways... sooo.... any suggestions?

I've got a scan of one of the factories, they're all the same image and everything:

If they are all 4th edition, give him $3 each.

Here's a guide, on the left-hand navigation check "completed" and then the search button underneath.

Well hey, they're a lot better than the current card that does "technically" the same thing... except it turns into a 1/1 flyer...

Meh, older is better.

Good point on the Blinkmoth Nexsus. Though the Blinky is pretty fun, especially in the same deck as Factory. :D

The factory is inherently stronger - but the nexus has evasion...;)

Thats my basic qualm with it. Basically I think its about as strong... but everyone else is against that same fact.

But I still go with the old "Urza's Avenger" thinking when dealing with that sorta thing:

For every "special ability" the card gets -1/-1.

So, since Mr. Factory is a stupid old vanilla 2/2, its the fundamental base to compare other cards of its calibre upon. The Nexus is exactly the same as the Factory except that it can turn into a 1/1 flyer... Well, using "Urza's Avenger" thinking, if you remove the flying you'll give it +1/+1 and thusly have a Factory worker...

Does this make sense to you?

yep - but if you're opponent can't deal with flyers - the nexus wins the game...

(almost every deck can deal with land critters...)

I like Factory much better. Don't forget that it can tap to give another Assembly Worker +1/+1. Blinkmoth Nexus needs a mana too.

Flying is helpful in some cases, but the extra point of power kills more quickly, and the extra point of toughness makes the Factory more durable.

That's really three advantages for the Factory, no mana requirements for the buffing ability, a point of toughness, and a point of power.

All Nexus has is flying...

Right there laddy, I keep forgetting it costs 1 mana to activate the Nexus' pumping ability.

but still, you can easily sideboard out whichever cards you want, everyone has a preference... Unless you play T2, then you are stuck with the Nexus.

Oh definitely. I don't play T2, but I'm sure that Nexus is excellent there. I never claimed that Nexus was a bad card, it's a great card. It's just not as good as Factory, which is not all that a problem, since Factory is amazing.
