Well it's that time again. It's Multani's Political Corner!
I have 2 issues. I need the memebers to choose which issue should be in the upcomming political corner.

Presidents: Bush or Gore?
or
Politics: What's your opinion?

Thanks! The next political corner will be posted between the 9th and the 13th.

I'll go with the green party. While we live in a 2 party country(its really a shame too) I feel that Ralph N. is the best choice. Well I shouldn't say that, its more that he is 1000 times better than the frat boy, or the jointless anti-fun.

We don't live in a 2 party system. You just named a third party yourself. Okay, so 2 parties do dominate the elections, but did you ever stop to think that they might because people support their decisions and agree with their platforms? Time to quote the Simpsons!

Kodos: "It's a 2 party system!"
Random guy: "I think I'll vote for a third party candidate!"
Kodos: "Go ahead, throw your vote away!"
(Perot punches his hat in anger)

I love that :)

Vote GOP!

Ok the answer is easy, a forth party. Perow doesn't stand a chance in hell. And I would seem that both Gore and Bush are complete losers as presidents.

If I could vote I would vote for Nater. Now let me explain. Its called damage control. Everyone sees this in magic all the time. For example in late game your oppenet plays bastoderm you have 3 1/1s (nothing special about them either), your gonna take 15 or your gonna use damage control and loss some of your cards.

Nater is like puting all of your creatures in front of it 1 turn at a time. Having you take no damage. And you might see better stuff in the future for canidates (like drawing another creature or something). Gore and Bush is lets attack you while you hit me for 5 for 3 turns. Not quite smart/sound thinking.

Nader, without a doubt.
If this country wants to get out of the essentially 2-party system we're stuck with, Nader has to get 5% of the popular vote.
If any party receives 5% of the pop. vote they will get equal funding to the Dem's and Rep's during the next election.
This is the first time I can recall there being a good chance for this happening!

I think we have a "2 party" system because they are the oldest and have had the most exposure on the media (having more money helps too). The US has an abysmal voter turnout; the ones that DO vote probably are the hard-core supporters of each party and the apathy votes are lost which could otherwise be divided among ALL parties.

I'm such a hyprcrite because I don't vote at all.

Multani: Looks like I'll have to sit this one out because I don't care and haven't followed the politics AT ALL. :) Sorry.

Any working man that votes Rebublican is like a chiken voting for... oh never mind. But I do have this:

While it is not true that all conservitives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservitive.

and this: "no new taxes" (less then 2 months into office, G. Bush the older signed several new taxes into effect)

and this: "I'm no ecologist, but trees are known to cause pollution." RR, the great communicator and half wit.

I have more...

Given my status of being exactly 17 years old, I won't be voting... That doesn't mean I don't have some opinions on the topic, however. I really don't give a damn about the Presidential race, for two reasons. First, because it doesn't affect me to the same extreme as the State polls. And second, because anyone who wants to be the President is too dumb to do the job. I mean, does ANY job have a higher stress level for less reward? Blek.

On the state based polls, though, there are some interesting ones. I've been exercising my right to manipulate for weeks now, getting people to vote as I would in their place. :) J/K... Well, mostly J/K. Measure 9, especially. (Oregon Measure 9; ban on homosexual education in public schools.)

As for politics on a whole... Someone shoot me now. :) IMHO, the US has been in need of a revolution since the late 1800s. Too... Much... Red... Tape...

Nater's the best choice hands down. But seeing as how the supream couts are being judged by the next presedent, I think it would be wise for every one to vote for Gore.

Bush is just too scary. Can you even imagen what it would be like to have him as a presedent?

It seems the people have spoken.
Well, I'll be "less involved" in this one as my knowledge is a bit on the thin side.
I'll simply host and moderate this time.

What do you mean "Until?" The commies took over Canada a long time ago, they're redder than that Maple Leaf on their flag.

Rando, eat me. Over rice. With farva beans...pftpftpft...

A Shiny Nickel>Perot>A Starburst Wrapper>Bush>Gore>Boyancy>Nader

Perot has no chance because the liberals run the media.
Bush has no chance because the liberals run the media.
Gore has a chance because he's liberal. The liberals run the media, and the idiotic masses only believe what the TV tells them to. And if it's accepted by the masses, it must be the truth. It doesn't matter that he installed Sleeper Agents into Bush's campaign to rig ads for scandlous accusations, nor that he lies, cheats, steals, accepts illegal contributions, and associates with...questionable...persons. (k1int0nz...must skr4mb13 text, b¡g br0th3r iz watch1n j00r a$s and mine.)
Nader. He's the flatulent weiner who promotes cars that look like ****, smell like farts, and turn hazardous exhaust into more hazardous exhaust that just happens not to be on the EPA's list of "Double-Plus-UnGood" compounds.

Vote for the Great Potato!

Ahh, the News Journal. So liberal that no matter how you fold it you can only read the left side.

I have to say that one of my favorite things about conservatives and liberals is that each thinks that the other controls the media. Conservatives think the media is totally controlled by Liberals, and Liberals think that the media is totally controlled by Conservatives.

Um Melkor, I've never met a single liberal who thinks the media is controlled by conservatives. They always agree that they control it. As for the communists, I say bring 'em on! If those **** commie ******** get elected, then I'm starting a militia to bring those sons of ******* DOWN!!!!!!! [me]Pulls out the Scythe and swings it threateningly[/me]

Thats funny because basically every liberal I've met thinks that the media has a totally conservative bias. As for those red bastards, well, this is the good old US of A and I've got my pickup truck with my gunrack and my guns so I'll show them what for.

Hetemti:
I can tell in your elequence that I said something you do not like. I am going to then assume that you are a conservative. Perhaps you would like to discuss your views instead of chanting unfounded rhetoric? And please, tell me about this "sleeper agent" and please give examples and proof of "lies", "cheating", "stealing" and "questionable persons". And then I'll tell you about the lies, cheatings, thefts and all the questionable people that the GOP has been involved with over the last 20 years.

Also, I'd like any one person to give me a few good reasons why conservativeisim is the better political philosophy. It can't be how everyone lives in peace and harmony and gets to live thier own life the way they want, because that is the exact opposite of what the GOP has tried to accomplish.

The USA has a two-party system because of the election process. What it comes down to is basically a popularity contest. You start with the two parties. Each party stands for the extreams, but the candidates have to appeal to the masses, so they both try to appear to be in the middle on all the issues, so as to offend no one. Incidently, that is why all the add campaigns are mud slinging, because that is politically safer than actually presenting ones own views.

If you add a third party, what tends to happen is that whichever of the two original parties that candidate comes across as loses a bunch of their share of the standard vote, causing the other party to win, which is how Clinton got himself elected in the first place (thank you Mr. Perot).

If a third party is persistent and actually manages to get enough support and to pull enough votes from one of the other two parties to win an election, what would probably happen at that point is that one of the original two parties would be unpopular enough to fade into non-existance (it has happened before).

BTW, just because there is a third choice does not mean that it is a 3-party system.
