Polar Kraken

I have four of this creature. It used to be one of my old favorites way back when animating it from my graveyard to kill my opponent on turn four. Well, attacking with big tramplers out of the graveyard sort of went out of style for me, and I moved on to other decks. But I realized that apparently my favorite big creature of old is not so great anymore. In fact, it sucks and is inferior. Well, I plan to change that. I'm building a Polar Kraken deck somehow. And it will be good...

I'll say it suck because it is blue... (not a surprise from me, is it...)

but If I played blue - and wanted to rock someone's world with a red/blue deck - I'd run it with power conduits, mind over matter, and fervor(or the like...)

Then fling it after it attacks!!!...

Riptide Mangler
Rush of Knowledge

G support cards:
Beserk
Nantuko Mentor
Rancor (to give smaller creatures trample)
Library creature fetchers - like Defense of the Heart or Pattern of Rebirth
Yavimaya Elder to get you lands (and work with the Pattern if you play it)

Artifact support:
Fireshrieker (if you creatures are big with trample might well)
Altar of Dementia

Not that it'd be a very good deck, but different

Donate Death watch and something to keep it tapped or something. I am trying to think or a way to make that cumulative upkeep an advantage. tee hee........ how about BALANCE!!! The most evil card ever. Only balance can make such crappy cards, like Kaervek's spite, and make it good and actually playable. Play the Kraken and after the first couple of turns, balance, and attack them some more. Of course you could always reanimate it really early on with Buried alive and exhume to side step its huge mana cost, or Dream halls.

Will you stop it? You're using all of my ideas and just throwing them up here. Anyway, I might try to make this an article, with decklists. I have another article to finish first though...

Yeah, Dream Halls was my leading choice though. I mean, it completely ignores casting costs for colored spells. My current Dream Halls deck can't incorporate Polar Kraken at all, but we'll work on it. The Necro-Donate one should be easy for me to build (just take the Illusions and a few other things out of that other Necro-Donate deck I have, and throw in the new combo). It might suck majorly, but it'll be easy. I'm also going to go with Infernal Genesis. The Balance idea is just TOO stupid, and you know it. You're just trying to get me to build that Spite-Balance deck, most likely, Al0ysius...

The best thing I can think of to combo with Polar Kraken is Instill Energy.

Instill Energy G
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature has haste.
0: Untap enchanted creature. Play this ability only during your turn but only once each turn.

This lets you untap and swing with the Kraken as soon as it drops in play.

If you Donate a Polar Kraken to your opponent, they simply will choose not to pay the upkeep when it gets too high.

I vaguely remember someone using Polymorph to get Polar Kraken in play early.

You could run intruder alarm with the Kraken, instead of the instill energy...

Haste can then be granted by something like lightning greaves!!!...
