It's really just a black control card...
Since the cards are removed from the game... you get to see them.
Then you can make a better decision on whether or not to use your discard spells on them...
Persecute would be okay with nexus - then you could get rid of the color most dangerous to you...
That's about it...

Yeah - Fading was a little worse than cumulative upkeep...
Witht he upkeep - you had a choice to keep it(if able)... With fading, it just goes bye-bye...

there were three enchantments with that fading thing... and all rare! one that removes lands, one that removes cards from hand, and the most useful and white to boot it out took care of critters.
what is that? white gets creature removal? for a limited time! thats idiotic! try giving it counters to remove to remove creatures and have it not die; then you get a good card.
