One of my friends were telling me that they made cards in the new set that you can get any card outside of the game. Is that true??? And if it is can you get extended and type 1 stuff or only type 2.
the cards are call wishes. They are variants of the ring of maruf. In tournament play you are limited to your sideboard and the removed from game area. In casual play limit is your collection.
White gets artifacts and enchantments and has the highest cc
green gets creatures or land
red gets sorceries
black gets any card but you lose half your life
blue gets instants
You can, of course, only put in your sideboard a card that is legal for the given format.
So in a Type II tournament, you can get a card from 7th or Odyssey or Torment or Judgment or Invasion or Planeshift or Apocalypse - if it's in your sideboard.
In Type I you can get anything.
(WotC has even gone so far as to say in official statements that in casual play you can get whatever you want... it doesn't mention "rules" of casual play very often.)
