New 7th Rules?

So far I haven't seen this mentioned, so...

Is there any whispering in the wind about rules changes/modifications when 7th comes out? Or is everything pretty much hunky-dory, from WOTC's point of view?

Since this wasn't a specific rules question but more a 7th edition question, I figured I'd stick it in General rather than Rules. I might move it later on...

I'd be very interested to know too ...
Although I guess it wont be a big Sha-bang like when 6th came out

we all knew about them MONTHS before they arrived officially. I doubt if anything interesting for 7th is comming out except maybe for little things like: No one may play with cards that have stupid abilities like banding, et al.
I think 7th's legacy will be something insignificant like being the first core set with foils or be known for the set that brought back Serra Angel, et al.
I'm all about being ticked-off that Armageddon is leaving, but that's it.

I think what he meant about a "she-bang" was that it totally overhauled the rules, like introducing the Stack and what-not. This is an EXTREME example, but we're not going back to interrupts, right? Really, I don't see anything happening to the rules but just wanted to make sure...

Seldon Merney said something about 7th clearifing Targeting, that something is targeted only if it says "Target" or "Targets"

As far as I know, the 7th Edition rules will just clear up a few remaining "confusing" areas, and give us our long-awaited copy card rules, which will no doubt give us a few all-new "confusing" areas...

...who isn't on top of these things...

Hetemti: I thought it was already that way?

Chaos Turtle: What are the confusing areas now? What is the copy card area?

Local enchantments don't say "target", except for the older ones..

It is that way, but now it will be officially spelled out in the rules.

Baby Johnny knows that if it says target it targets, it's things that don't say target, like WoG, that befuddles him...

I was being facetious.

By "confusing" I meant the targetting thing, and anything else that for some reason people sitll don't understand (priority, state-based effects, etc).

The "copy card" rules are long overdue. They will supposedly clarify what all the copy cards (Clone, Vesuvan Doppleganger, etc) do. Of course, for the most part, it reasonably simple, but some crazy things happen when you have copy cards copying other copy cards. That's what the rules are supposed to deal with.

Naturally, these rules will drive the average Magic player insane.

Some hope:

1: Now that there will be rules to govern them, we may see more cool copy cards.

2: Maybe continuous effect interactions - the complicated ones, involving dependent vs. independent effects, and timestamping - will get cleaned up, or at least made plain and clear.

ErinPuff: I don't know recent cards so I don't know how they're worded, but I remember when they first started putting on "target" on local enchantments (4th? 5th?), people got confused on when they could activate the abilities. For instance, Regeneration had something like "Target creature gains G: Regenerate target creature". People thought that the activated ability meant you could regenerate another creature, not just the one the enchantment was on (I can find the specific wording later if you really want to know; crystalkeep probably updated it so it wouldn't appear there).

Chaos Turtle: Well, certainly independent/dependent effects and timestamping is confusing. I guess the copy card area is why there haven't been a lot of copy cards recently (the only ones I can think of are Volrath's Shapeshifter and stuff). Is this spelled out "officially" or just speculation on players' parts?
