MTG:IE Help Needed

Okay, so I figured I'd re-install my copy of it, hoping the patches WotC released would allow it to run without tearing my computer apart.

This is not the case.

Has anyone ever had serious problems running this behemoth? It knocks my system resources from 75% to 2% when it's running, and I need to know if there's any way to get around this. It's driving me nuts.

Yeah, I have it and that thing sucks the life out of my comp like it's a vampire and my comp is a freakin virgin!

I have no clue how to help or fix the problem, but I thought you might like to know that you have some company in your misery:)

The software is worthless. No, seriously. Utterly, contemptibly worthless. It's a total washout.

I managed to get it running and I tried it all out and uh...it ain't worth it. I like having the pretty pictures on the screen showing all the pretty cards I'm using, and I like how easy it is to get into an online game, but you know what?

Forget it.

It's one thing to be able to play online and have all kinds of pretty graphics to go with it, but the software is horribly bloated, knocks your system resources from 75% to 5%, lags obscenely badly, is obscenely difficult to build decks with, plays slowly, and makes you make serious readjustments to your monitor in order to even use it (at least, to mine).

Just forget the software. Maybe Nautilus will have a nice plug-in that lets us use card images. :)

being a resource muncher is one of the many problems that came with this program Other were the constant hangs and crashes that followed it, at least in earlier versions and a lack of support from WotC. Its onl saving grace is that it does have the card graphics which is nice, but since they can't even be used for proxy prints it kinda sucks. A combination of Magic Suitcase and Apprentice is far better for the same service and suitcase can have the card graphics installed into it if you have time.

Woohoo! I'm glad I bought a box with my birthday money a year ago instead of this!

It can be used for proxy prints. The images on the cards are stored as JPGs on the CD-ROM, clear as day. You just need a separate program to resize 'em a little, but really, you're good to go.
