I went last Sat.... Modus, you going this Sat?
To tell you the truth, I saw nothing and heard nothing about this set..... Working these things keeps me away from the cards.....

Yes, it's the instore pre-release. I've already drafted morningtide (LOR - LOR - MOR) pas monday, and it's a great block. I've been looking at the spoilers since the first card was rumoured. Although my experience is extremely limited (har har), it made me look at Lorwyn again. The idea of synergy between races and classes is really refreshing, and both sets play wonderful together.

Well, here's my story. It didn't exactly went as planned, but I had some fun :)

I opened only craprares (from my Lorwyn tournament pack: forced fruition, galepowder mage and Liliana Vess. I'm not too fond of the black planeswalker, as it doesn't really do anything by itself. Morningtide didn't brought much improvement, with a Battletide alchemist (whenever something deals damage to player, prevent x of that damage, where x is the number of clerics you control), scarblade elite (which I shouldn't have played) and a huge borderland behemoth.
I had few playable cards (mainly shriekmaw, crib swap, lash out, tarfire and changeling berserker), and ended up with a rather slow giant deck.

First round I played against a pretty weak WB kithkin aggro deck. First round I beat him with a second turn Brighthearth banneret, third turn blind spot giant (stuck on 2 land), happily drew my third land the next turn, used it to play changeling berserker, championing the banneret and smacking for 9, he didn't recover.
Unfortunately, I got screwed round 2 and 3, so he ended up winning the match, but although I wasn't happy about my deck, I still think it was better than his :(

Second round I played against an insane deck, which came pretty close to the constructed mannequin deck, packing double makeshift mannequin (one was foil if you wonder how that's possible), shriekmaw, mulldrifter and aethersnipe. To finish it off he also had profane command. Oh yes, and a mirror entity. I was lucky to kill him with my 12/12 trampling giant once, but didn't really stand a chance in the other rounds.

After two rounds, I had no points, so I was getting pretty annoyed. I was paired at the lowest table, playing against some sort of elemental goblin combination. He lacked removal, so once my giants hit the table I finished him off pretty fast.

Last round I played a treefolk/elf deck which was about as slow as my deck, but fortunately my giants were bigger than his 'folks, so I won it that game as well.

I ended up 11th out of 21 players, but I really wasn't satisfied. I blame a lot of it on my lousy cards, but I must admit I made some playing errors as well.
