Aggro Red. MMM, crunchy. My favorite way to play, except maybe for red aggro-control.
Anyway, I'd like your opinions on how to improve this deck -- still keeping the spirits/arcane theme, and a decent budget (I'm not about to go out and buy 4 Jittes, for example).
Creatures(21)
4 Frostling
4 Hearth Kami
4 Ember-Fist Zubera
3 Blademane Baku
2 Brutal Deceiver
2 Shimatsu the Bloodcloaked
2 Ryusei, the Falling Star
Other Spells (15)
4 Glacial Ray
3 Torrent of Stone
4 Genju of the Spires
4 Long-Forgotten Gohei
Land (24)
4 God's Eye, Gate to the Reikai
20 Mountain
Notes:
All the creatures in the deck are spirits, including the genju and the God's Eye tokens. All the instants are Arcane. This makes the Gohei real powerhouse when I get it into play, especially in multiples! I could put in Goblin Cohorts or other efficient creatures, or better spells, but I think the deck has good synergy this way. I considered using Kusari-Gama or No-Dachi or the like, but the nice thing about the Gohei is they boost all my creatures, no equip cost needed, and they make my arcanes cheaper (Torrent of Stone for 2R or 1R is a steal!)
Tested this against Jim's rats, monoblue affinity, and goblins -- won about 60% of the games.
Shimatsu is pretty good in this deck. He can pop Zuberas, God's Eyes, and Ryusei, and with a Gohei or two out I don't have to sac a lot to make him worth the mana. Originally I had Crack the Earth in to "pop" my cards, and as a splice-target, but it never seemed to work very well.
About Ryusei: I never got to cast him.. Either I didn't have the mana, or the game was already decided by the time he could come out. Maybe go down to 1 copy?
The God's Eyes are pretty effective. I can sac them to Shimatsu, and with the new legend rule, if I have one in play, and play another, they'll both pop and net me two 1/1 spirits (larger with Gohei).
Anyway.. have at it! Thanks.
