Having recently gone out and purchased yet another Manowar CD, it occurs to me that either the music is inspired by the songwriter's gaming, OR the songs themselves could be a soundtrack for some good gaming.

Some of the more inspirational songs include:
Black Wind, Fire and Steel
Ride the Dragon
Demon's Whip
Blood of the King
By the Power of Thy Sword
Carry On

For those of you unaware, Manowar is best described as a metal band, but unlike other speed metal bands, you can understand what they say...

Anyone out there agree, disagree, not care?

YES!!!!!! Another metalhead on this board!!! Manowar RULE THE WORLD!!!! One of my favorite bands, actually!!

They have so many songs that just KILL - "Black Wind, Fire and Steel", "Carry On", "Gods Made Heavy Metal", "Heart of Stell", "Hail and Kill", etc, etc... And I agree that many of their songs could be on a soundtrack for a fantasy movie.

By Moonlight We Ride
Ten Thousand Side By Side
With Swords Drawn Held High
Our Whips And Armor Shine
Hail To Thee Our Infantry
Still Brave Beyond The Grave
All Sworn The Eternal Vow
The Time To Strike Is Now

Kill Kill

Gone Are The Days When Freedom Shone
Now Blood And Steel Meet Bone
In The Light Of The Battle’s Wake
The Sands Of Time Will Shake
How Proud Our Soldiers Stand
With Mace And Chain In Hand
Sound The Charge Into Glory Ride
Over The Top Of Their Vanquished Pride

Victory Victory

To The Battle We Ride
We Crossed A Starlit Sky
No Space No Time
We’ll Catch The Wind
Strange Losses Men Died
We Crossed A Starlit Sky
And Still No Space And Time
We’ll Catch The Wind

Kill Kill

Sound The Charge Into Glory Ride
Over The Top Of Their Vanquished Pride
By Moonlight We Ride
Ten Thousand Side By Side

Ransac -- unless you frequently listen to metal stations (presuming you've access to a metal station in your area), you've likely not heard any of their stuff.

I was fortunate in that I got to play DJ for a metal station for a few summers -- I was introduced to all sorts of music.

To read some of the lyrics and get a taste of the band, go to www.manowar.com -- then go buy a CD or two.

Ride Like the Wind
Fight Proud my Son
You're the Defender
God has Sent.

Enjoy.
