Is Captain Sisay Common ?

We got a problem here in Malta... we got too many Sisay and Rith, the Awakener. They seem like commons and we are finding too many of them. In the prelease between 24 people we found 7 Captain Sisay and 5 Rith, the Awakener...

We seem to have had quite a few Reya's in our area.

On the flip side, after picking up two Recoils at the prerelease, the next two boxes I opened didn't have a single one.

In the two boxes I got both had a Darigazz, The Igniter in them 1 foil. But what I really want are Fact or Fiction and Sleepers Robe, I only got 2 of each of them.

Out of the nine boxes I've seen opened around our school, there have been ~ TWO Fact or Fictions! Sheesh! How frustrating... (And Charging Troll is tough to find, too!)

my local store's gone through almost 11 boxes of invasion and only 3 or 4 horned cheetah's have been pulled. 0 skizziks, 0 utopia trees, 0 dueling grounds

The rarity of the rares seens to be really off. So are more equal than others.

I've had almost the same problem, opening two boxes of tournament packs, and getting 0 skizziks, 0 utopia trees, and 0 coalition victories. However, this 'problem' has happened to me before. When masques was out, I couldn't find a Conspiracy or a Lithopage to save my life. However, when I talked to a player from the West Coast, he said he couldn't find Bargaining Tables and Crooked Scales, which I had more than 4 of already

Personally, it seems to me like it's a regional issue to me. Of course, if I ever have problem finding a card, I can just go online and get it.

Now that I think about it I got 5 Belbes Portals and I didn't even buy a box!

I seem to be a Parallax Inhibitor Magnet,
but around here, Multani's are very common.

And Priests of Titania are harder to find that moxes.


I believe its a regional thing too.

Baskil - I opened up a box today. I got a Coalition Victory AND a *FOIL* Coalition Victory.

At the prerelease my friend played in the main event and a booster draft and wound up with 3 Absorbs! Mind you, he got a planar portal once the set was released officially.

We only got one elder dragon legend between 8 players, too.

It's like that here, too.

I watched a guy open up a box and he got 12 rares--three of each.
He was looking for the foil rare, so he didn't care...

but I drooled over the Kavu Titans that he got, as well as some of the other things, like raging kavu and things of that nature...

and come to think of it, I've only heard of two people having Utopia Trees, and NOONE having a Skizzik!!(exclamations are used to denote that it should have them, not that there actual punctuation. got me?).

Collating is BAD here. I have 1 troll, but 4 armadillo cloaks. 1 obliterate in our school (In have it), and we bought over 9 boxes! I have 1 FoF, and 5 opts. I agree, this set particularly, had problems like that.

Collating isn't an exact science, that's for sure. In a perfect world it would take you 3 boxes + 2 packs to get 1 of every rare, but the laws of averaging would never allow that to happen. Here are my strange pulls, I've bought 56 packs of Invasion so far and gotten:

2 Urza's Rage
2 Meteor Storm
2 Ghitu Fire
0 Fact or Fiction
0 Shivan Oasis and Elfame Palace
5 Breath of Darigaaz
5 of that horrible black instant (2B, 1/1 and fear?)
2 of that green common: 2/1 CIP 1 mana of any color

1 Box was ordered from AZ, 20 packs from my hometown in CT.

My rares have been very balanced so far (1 of's have been good to me, Tsabo's Web, Skizzik, Rout, Rith, etc.) but my uncommons and commons have had very poor random collation.
