How do I build a succesful Obliterate/Penumbra deck

Concept - I love the idea of the penumbra creatures and I think combined with Obliterate they can actually do something decent. Of course Type 2 isn't my forte so I could easily be wrong, but I'm willing to find out the hard way.

R/G/B
Creatures
4 BoP (surprise!)
4 Penumbra Bobcat
4 Penumbra Kavu
3 Thunderscape Battlemages
(I love the Wurms but they would just be overkill I think)

Spells
3 Obliterate
3 Diabolic Intent
4 Scorching Lava
4 Terminate
4 Duress
3 ???

Lands
Stuff that produces red, green and black mana I suppose

Has anyone else tryed toying with this concept at all? I want to stay away from Nether Spirit considering I'll have other creatures in my graveyard.

Go down to the Penumbra Wrath thread, Which ended up being the Penumbra Obliterate Thread.

Earlier today, I participated in an interesting discussion involving Penumbra critters, Greater Good, Living Death, Ana Sanctuary, and Fungal Shambler. Additional mana provided by Urborg Elves. It sounds viable, if I had the cards. Since I do not, I leave it to others to build.

The 3 ??? should be Fires of Yavimaya. Think about it, Obliterate everything and then attack your defenseless opponent! It's brilliant!

Ransac has a good point.
I think a deck with elves/Pen/Obl and fires would work well.

The key to the obliterate deck would be to get Obliterate out sometime in the mid game. I would anticipate the deck having little to no tap-lands, and as many mana boosters as possible.

I was thinking about that idea after I posted it and now I really want to build that deck!!!!! That combo can be DEVESTATING!!!!!! I mean, think about it! When you Obliterate and your creatures become black and can attack, it'll take your opponent at least 4 turns to make a decent defense, providing he has the lands in his hand, and by that point, you have a definite advantage.

I'm stealing this deck idea. BYE!!!

There's no stealing decks! I expect $4.50 mailed to me w/in the next few days :D. J/K, if you build it let me know how it does and post your decklist.

The Fires is a fun idea. I really like that they survive the bomb and my penumbras attack the same turn. That would surprise the crap out of my opponent.

I'm thinking about actually making a Multiplayer deck instead with the Wurms, Weatherseed Treefolk, Obilterate (and/or Jokulhaups) and Sneak Attack. Now that's a nasty combo.
Get a Sneak out, attack as much as possible, wait until I get a mountain and pop the Obliterate. Drop a mountain, continue the assault with my unscathed Sneak Attack. Why haven't I tried this sooner? My group will hate me!

Back to the Type 2 deck for a second.
Are 4 Birds enough or should I be running 4 Elves/Nightscape Familiars too?
How about those Masques double lands? They seem like a good fit considering all my lands go bye-bye anyway.
Penumbra Wurms, too expensive or worth running (if my deck is based around an 8CC spell, should I try to run a 7CC creature with great synergy?)

Thanks peoples!

You should have around 2-3 wurms in the deck because if you have them when you obilerate, your opponent will literally concede.
