Game from the 80's?

I remember playing this game in the 80's on my Apple ][+; don't know if it also was for the PC. It seemed to be set during WWII and "traced" the Allied advance through various French cities, like Caen and the initial port they landed in. However, the game was side-scrolling, kinda like Choplifter. You started at the right end and had to reach the left end and destroy the enemy base. You could send out men, tanks, anti-aircraft jeeps and you controlled a helicopter that could pick up and drop off the men. And of course, you had to destroy the enemy defenses like bunkers and his own troops before you got to his base.

Anyone remember the name of this game?

So would MECC (the company that made Oregon Trail, the Munchers games, and Odell Lake, among others) have made this game too?

Kinda reminds me of the old arcade game, Front Line. Where it scrolled N-S and you threw grenades, entered tanks, ...

Completely off topic, I know, but it clicked for me.

I don't think MECC would have made this game; I have no idea if it was actually "sold" as I had a pirated copy at the time.

BigBlue, what you describe sounds like Ikiri Warriors... got that game :)
