Well. there sure as heck aren't many posts here...
Anyways, i have made a lot of funny decks that turned out to be moderately good:

Orc Deck
Dwarf Deck
Thallid Deck
Thrull Deck
Homarid Deck
Merfolk Deck
Goblin Deck

My favorite to play with are the Orc and Dwarf decks. I don't know why, but i like them!

Which, of course, is why there's not many deck postings there, since Type-Random is pretty much on hold for right now.

Mike?

I'm quite shocked. I don't see any Legends deck!
How come? I've made some Legends based deck before.
It was stupid, but hey, we are in the Casual Players Alliance, and that's all that matter: fun.

I'm glad to see people playing for fun here.
It puts the magic back in Magic.

I've seen Legend decks which were good in extended fun play, now with the go getter for legends in Invasion & the others the deck is back & better. I'll ask Mike for a deck list on Saturday.

I was beaten down by a legends deck constructed by a friend of mine named Sakurai. I need to get that decklist.

Cool, Green Burn

I've heard of a Blue Burn deck before. They use old psychic cards to do damage. Haven't been able to find any though.

Actually though, a black burn deck could be very successful, something like this:

4 Dark Ritual
4 Rain of Filth (finisher)
4 Drain Life
4 Soul Burn
4 Yawgmoth's Will
4 Syphon Soul
4 Soul Feast
4 Rhystic Syphon
4 Yawgmoth's Agenda
20 Swamp
4 Lake of the Dead

Let's see...

Fire and Brimstone deals four to you and four to target opponent. All for 3WW.

Cleansing destroys all land, but everyone can save land on a one land for one life trade (i.e. five life lets me save five of my lands of my choice).

Both of these require a bit of work to use, but its a start...

But Eye for an Eye can be used quite well against those annoying big creatures.

Thallid ICM, what is this? A black burn deck with NO Kaeverek's Spite? That was the ultimate is black burn finishers!
Also, I NEED a copy of the Blue Burn deck for Extended (or must it be 1.5 now?) tournaments!

What about a deck inspired by the works of a favorite author? Such as H.P. Lovecraft?

Every time I start to work on it, I realize I don't own some of the cards, or large holes develop in the deck's defenses/capabilities itself... that being said, the following cards all work, due to either name, artwork, or occasionally both.

Kudos to you if know the story that some of these cards make reference too.

Uncle Istvan
Witch Hunter
Terror
Wittigo
Elder Spawn
Chaotic Goo
Fellwar Stone
any of the books and tomes
Ashen Ghoul
Primordial Ooze
Darkness
Fear

Many of these cards fall into the "suboptimal" range, but hey, that's the purpose of theme decks, to use such cards to advantage. In addition, there are other cards out there, I just can't remember them.

Artist-based themes work too, but the decks win more if you go with two or three artists in a deck instead of one (some artists haven't done lands, yet).
