A couple people have asked since I put up the Trix primer; since these are outdated, are they worth putting up? Is anyone getting anything out of them? There's only three left anyway.

rakso, are there any updated ones on your site that I should be putting up instead? I'm just putting up the ones that you sent me when your site was down for a bit.

Even if decks are outdated by bannings or rule changes, the beauty of them is still there and I personally believe that there is a lot to learn from the primers, even if the decktype has disappeard.

So I am 150 % behind the idea of publishing primers, even if they are outdated.

Nobody forces anybody to read them, but they are gold mine for the interested mind.

I'd say we should even go as far as digging up some old DOJO articles that deal with game strategy and basic theories of Magic.

I dont know if we can legally do that or not though.

Maybe as a title to the article / primer we should simply add that this is an old article.

Kind of a "good ol' time" corner

I was kind of doing that; putting that the primers were "archived" or old or something, but got out of the habit when Chaos Turtle came back. I'll try to remember to keep doing that.

Since the primers deal with Type I, they don't get old quickly, do they? The updating comes when a card changes how a deck type can play so radically, like Squee for CounterPhoenix and Fact or Fiction for control decks.

But the basic principles stay the same, or you'd get a different deck.

For old Dojo articles, I figure you can just link Nate Heiss's new site: www.mtgword.com

He's got it covered. :)

It's also new bannings and restrictions; that's what has people talking about the Trix one since Necro and Demonic Consultation are restricted now.

For the Trix primer, remember that the deck was the most abusive one of its time, and those bannings were designed to kill THAT SPECIFIC DECK.

That's what makes it nice to read, even if it's now illegal, I suppose. Same with the Necro primer.

at Beyond Dominia. But it went down a couple of months ago, so rakso sent copies out to various people.

Also, they might be helpful to those who don't visit other sites (like myself :) )
