Forcing read receipts

May i ask why it is that the PM system forces read receipts... I mean, if I cancel, does it still send the message?

I belive so, it just dosn't tell you if the person that go it read it.

Yeah, it does. I find it to be annoying personally... what is the point on this site?

It's prolly a default setting for this version of vBulletin...Why worry about it?

Maybe they don't like the pop-up buttons?

Hitting Cancel still causes the message to be sent... I do it plenty of times. I guess it would be nice if there was an option in User Settings to say whether you want to automatically assume you want a receipt or not...
